In some cases the Ralink BlueTooth driver causes the HP computer to crash after enabling Hyper-V.

This issue can be reproduced easily:

The order:

  1. Disabled VTx in the BIOS
  2. Installed HP Probook 4740s from scretch with the build-in installation media
  3. Installed all mandatory updates
  4. Upgraded to Windows 8.1 via the Windows Store
  5. Installed all mandatory updates
  6. Enabled VTx in the BIOS
  7. Enabled Hyper-V

CRASH of the computer, the only thing to force a normal start was to power the computer off.

The solution:

  1. Shut down the computer
  2. Disabled VTx in the BIOS
  3. Re-installed the Ralink Bluetooth driver from the website from HP.
The old driver was removed and replaced by this version.
  4. Enabled VTx in the BIOS
  5. And the computer booted normally.
    And Hyper-V worked as intendend.
